We help IB students & schools achieve their academic goals

Lanterna was established in Stockholm in 2004. Over the years we have helped thousands off IB students across the globe achieve their academic goals, gain entry to top universities, and establish learning habits which have set them up for a bright future.

We do this in two ways: by offering tutoring from our extensive network of tutors and by supporting schools with online teachers of the IB curriculum.

1 to 1 tutoring and online revision courses

Tutoring is either individual or on a targeted revision course and is always delivered by carefully selected tutors who have graduated from the IB with top marks. We take care to match students with a tutor who will help unlock their academic potential, and provide inspiration, tips and guidance
based on their recent experience of the IB curriculum.

Supporting schools with smart teaching solutions

Through our network of qualified IB teachers we provide schools with relief cover in as little as 48 hours. We can provide full-year teachers for niche subjects or where recruitment is a challenge, or arrange courses tailored to suit the needs of a particular cohort of students.
With partner schools in over 50 countries, we are used to supporting very different academic situations.
When surveyed recently, our partner schools gave Lanterna an average recommendation rating of 9.26/10 for overall teaching quality.

Why Lanterna?

We live and breathe the IB curriculum. In fact, our founders started Lanterna as an IB CAS project back in 2004, and since then we have delivered over 150,000 hours of tutoring. Our small but dedicated team is based across Stockholm and the UK, and our extensive network of tutors are based in every time zone. We love helping students to realise their academic potential
and hope to support many more on their IB journey.

Our team

Our culture and people are the main ingredients that make Lanterna a great place to work.

We are a diverse team with a common goal of creating value for students, parents, and schools.

At Lanterna, our culture is defined by authenticity, clear transparency, and an entrepreneurial spirit, always prioritising teamwork at its core.
