Why IB Educators Choose to Teach with Lanterna

Based in Athens, Greece, Apostolos has over 10 years of IB teaching experience, specialising in IB DP and MYP Physics. He has taught at top international schools and universities, and holds a PhD in Physics from University College London.
Teaching only IB Physics at school allows him to have a flexible timetable, which is ideal for fitting in some extra teaching after school hours. Teaching Lanterna classes is the ideal way to complete his timetable, teaching students globally and helping them to fall in love with Physics. It gives him piece of mind knowing that his sources of teaching income are diversified, allowing him to focus on what he does best.

Daniela is an English teacher and translator with over ten years of experience. Since 2015, she has specialised in supporting students in the IBDP, especially English A: Language and Literature. For Daniela, helping students make the most of the Diploma Programme and watching them feel proud of accomplishing something they never thought possible is the most rewarding part of her role.
"I value the flexibility and accessibility of online learning, and I love that it gives me the chance to build strong, personal connections with students across different cultures."

Praveen has over 17 years of experience in international schools, specialising in the IB. He is an expert in DP Computer Science, Design Technology, and MYP Design, and has served as an IBDP Examiner since 2011. With online teaching, Praveen can give each student more personalised and specialised support, and he prides himself on his assessment accuracy.
"For me, teaching online isn't just a job – it's a way to teach without any geographical barriers. My work with Lanterna has allowed me to master the digital classroom, using tools and strategies to help every student succeed, no matter where they are in the world."

faq
We can provide an amazing IB qualified teacher within 48 hours, but usually it’s best with 1 week’s notice or more.
Of course - while it is very rare, in some cases the teacher/class chemistry is not a match, and Lanterna will then replace the teacher with one that is better suited.
Of course! Our teachers love to be involved in the student’s academic success and are always available to answer questions from parents.
Aside from delivering quality lessons for your students, our teachers can also offer support with mock examinations, IA or EE coursework. Whatever the needs of your students and school, our team will curate a package to alleviate those challenges.
