why our teachers love lanterna
Apostolos is a 46 year old IB Physics teacher that has been teaching for over 10 years, and most recently at an international school in Athens. He has worked as a researcher and an Optical Engineer, but teaching had always been his passion.
Teaching only IB Physics at school allows him to have a flexible timetable, which is ideal for fitting in some extra teaching after school hours. Teaching Lanterna classes is the ideal way to complete his timetable, teaching students globally and helping them to fall in love with Physics. It gives him piece of mind knowing that his sources of teaching income are diversified, allowing him to focus on what he does best.
Justyna has always had a passion for Business and Economics, having completed her Masters and PhD in the same. She’s been teaching for 15 years, and has recently turned to online learning because she thinks it has some unique advantages!
It's not just witnessing the transformation of her students as they tackle challenges and reach their full potential. Justyna really enjoys the opportunity to connect with people from around the world, fostering a diverse and enriching learning environment. Additionally, the flexibility in scheduling classes allows Justyna to tailor her teaching approach to suit the individual needs of her students - there's nothing quite like the joy of seeing that "aha" moment and the beaming smiles of her mentees.
Sara is a 47 year-old-psychologist who has been been practicing therapy since 2012, and started teaching around the same time. Teaching in a school in Mexico revealed her love and passion for teaching, because learning goes both ways: the teacher also learns a lot from their students. She then began tutoring students online for Lanterna in 2022 as a way to balance running her own private practice in Mexico and her love for teaching. When she’s not listening to music or having meals with family and friends in her small town in Mexico, she is connecting with students from all around the world.

Community
We provide platforms and forums where teachers can exchange resources, lesson plans, and contribute to our research.
faq
We can provide an amazing IB qualified teacher within 48 hours, but usually it’s best with 1 week’s notice or more.
Of course - while it is very rare, in some cases the teacher/class chemistry is not a match, and Lanterna will then replace the teacher with one that is better suited.
Of course! Our teachers love to be involved in the student’s academic success and are always available to answer questions from parents.
Aside from delivering quality lessons for your students, our teachers can also offer support with mock examinations, IA or EE coursework. Whatever the needs of your students and school, our team will curate a package to alleviate those challenges.
