From a 3.5 average before tutoring to a 5.8 after tutoring with Lanterna
My tutor, Maelle Tholome, was really nice and her presentations were really clear. I think Lanterna is the best platform for IB tutors!
My tutor, Scott Simpson, is an amazing tutor who gives very clear answers and very good tips on how to improve an essay or an IA.
My tutor, Maelle, was non-judgemental, kind, and provided very good explanations. Lanterna is a very good system, and Maelle is an extremely good tutor who knows what sheโs talking about and is very efficient.
My tutor, Maรซlle, was great because she could answer my questions and give me feedback on how to write exam questions.

A shared core, a choice of optional themes, and a fieldwork investigation. Here's how Geography is built, and where students gain the most marks.
The current IB Geography guide has been examined since May 2019. It pairs a compulsory core on population, climate and resources with a choice of optional themes, plus an HL-only extension on global interactions. Students take SL or HL and complete a fieldwork-based internal assessment. The course builds the data and essay skills valued across the social sciences.
Two SL or three HL options, for example freshwater, hazards or urban environments.
SL & HL
Population dynamics, megacities and ageing societies.
SL & HL
Causes, impacts and management of climate change.
SL & HL
Food, water and energy security.
SL & HL
Power, networks and global development.
Additional HL
A primary-data investigation and written report.
25% SL / 20% HL
HL covers two extra elements: a third optional theme and the global interactions extension assessed in Paper 3. SL carries slightly more IA weight. We coach case studies, command terms and timing to your level.
