What we cover
The Math AA Syllabus, Broken Down
Five connected topics, a personal exploration, and two years to master them. Here's the shape of the course, and where students most often need a hand.
The current IB Mathematics: Analysis & Approaches guide has been examined since May 2021 and runs through the 2027 cycle, with the next revision expected to follow. AA emphasises pure mathematics, including proof, algebra and calculus, and is the natural route for students heading into mathematics-heavy degrees. Students choose SL or HL, complete five topics plus a 'mathematical exploration' (the IA), and sit terminal papers at the end of the second year.

AA at HL and SL share a pure-maths core but diverge sharply in depth, pace and the HL-only Paper 3. We teach to the level your student is sitting, never a diluted version of the other.
